Reading on, it quickly became apparent that the ad, run by home improvement chain Lowes,  was about using duct tape to repair broken items so that they could be “recycled”.  It is a pretty liberal use of the term “recycle”,  but repairing things and recycling things are similar.

Lowes is using the contest to promote the sales and use of duct tape and everyone agrees that using it for repairs is one of its primary functions.

If you have made an interesting repair using duct tape and want to enter the contest, you can find the details by clicking here.
